Welcome to Invisalign

What Is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a custom made set of clear, almost invisible braces designed to fit perfectly around your teeth. They apply light pressure in specific areas to gently guide your teeth to where they need to be.  They can be easily removed for meals, brushing and social occasions. The aligners are custom made using the latest 3D printing technology. They are changed every 2 weeks as they incrementally move your teeth into your ideal position.

Not only are the aligners virtually invisible, they are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment. Plus, brushing and flossing are no problem. They are also more comfortable than traditional braces, with no metal or wires, which also usually means you spend less time in the dental surgery getting adjustments.  Invisalign treatment also allows you to view your own virtual treatment plan when you start so you can see how your straight teeth will look when your treatment is complete.

Benefits of Invisalign Vs Traditional Braces

INVISIBLE As these are virtually invisible braces’, it means no one will even be able to tell you’re having treatment until your perfectly straight smile is complete.  There are no brackets or archwires in sight; your smooth invisible braces sit perfectly over your teeth.

REMOVABLE Invisalign can be easily removed for meals and social occasions.  You can put them in and take out them out whenever you want or need to.

HEALTHY  Since they’re removable, you can brush and floss as normal. Your invisible braces are replaced by the next in the series every 2 weeks and can be cleaned at home in the meantime. You won’t need to make any changes to your diet, as you can simply pop your Invisalign braces out to eat.

Frequent Asked Questions

At Byways, we have treated patients ranging in age from 14 to 73 years old. There is never a point in life when we cannot move healthy, crooked teeth into their ideal position.

There are many causes of overcrowding, gaps and crooked teeth. For some people it can be inherited or possibly acquired.

Orthodontic treatments have evolved enormously over the last 20 years. Now problems such as gaps between the teeth, crowded teeth, overbite (upper teeth covering the majority of the lower ones), open bite (upper and lower teeth almost don’t touch) and cross bites can all be treated.

Orthodontic problems can have a profound impact on a person and their social and professional life. Depending on the extent of a problem, you might even be too self-conscious to smile. Effective orthodontic treatment not only improves your appearance, but also goes a long way to improving your self-confidence.

The correction of poor dental positioning also improves oral hygiene, as crowded or crooked teeth are often hard to clean properly. With such an improvement, the risk of gum disease for example – which can result in loss of teeth in extreme cases – is prevented

Orthodontic treatment improves chewing efficiency by re-establishing the correct relationship between lower and upper teeth, removing the difficulty you may have when chewing certain kinds of food, and so providing better nutrition.

In some cases, orthodontics can also prevent complications in the temporomandibular joint (the joint which joins the jaw to the skull). Chronic pain in the head, face, neck or ears, as well as dizziness, nausea and restricted ability to open and close the mouth can originate here.

To make private orthodontic treatment affordable, we offer 0% interest-free payment plans to help spread the cost.

The treatment process - Invisalign

Your first visit is to really understand what you want to achieve. We take photos of your teeth and use our state of the art iTero scanner to take an accurate digital image of your teeth.  So there’s no need for any messy impressions anymore.

We send your digital scan direct to Invisalign who create a video simulation of how your teeth will look at each stage along with your custom, virtually invisible aligners.

Within weeks of your first appointment, we call you into the practice to show you how to wear and care for your aligners. You change your braces every 2 weeks and remove the aligners for meals and brushing.

After the first couple of months you and others will start to notice a difference in your smile. We hope you start to enjoy your new smile. We provide you with your first set of retainers to help maintain your new smile.
